Overview

Introducing the skills needed to understand medical literature more fully, and to gain a health scepticism when reading published research.

What will I learn?

Course aims to:
Review the impact of statistical thinking on all stages of medical research
Highlight common statistical errors
Generate a healthy scepticism in reading the literature
By the end of the course, you should be able to:
Appreciate the importance of a healthy scepticism in reading the literature
Appraise the medical literature, sifting out the information of value
Apply statistical considerations to the design, statistical analysis and conclusions of a published repor

How will I be assessed?

No assessment. You will receive a certificate of attendance at the end of the course.
