Overview

This one day report writing course is aimed at business professionals who want to improve their report writing skills. The course can be delivered as described or it can be tailored to meet more specifically identified needs. Learning is reinforced by handouts covering all main objectives and exercises during the day. These handouts provide a valuable aide-memoire to support learning on return to the workplace.

Business professionals responsible for creating Reports or Proposals, whether being sent within the organisation or to clients.

• Establish clear objectives for a report
• Plan the stages for preparation of the report
• Assess the readers' needs
• Follow and/or adapt a recognised, helpful and logical structure
• Distinguish between facts, conclusions and recommendations
• Use an accurate, clear and brief writing style following plain English guidelines
• Consider the style and presentation of a report
• Edit/proofread documents to ensure accuracy and consistency

Ongoing assessment through the day.
