Overview

Introduction to technical authoring is a short course that covers technical authoring principles and writing styles appropriate to user documentation.

Training is provided by means of classroom teaching and practical exercises carried out under guidance. Sessions cover the planning of projects, writing from a design, structuring your documents, good writing practice, adapting your writing style for print and online formats, punctuation and grammar, techniques for documentation navigation, proofreading and documentation standards.

Who is it for?

New technical authors and technical writers, and people who are not career technical authors or technical writers, but who have been tasked with producing user documentation.

What will I learn?

Learn the technical authoring principles and writing styles appropriate to user documentation.

How will I be assessed?

Delegates receive comprehensive courseware and a completion certificate. There is no assessment made as part of this course.
