This Drylining and Jointing course has been developed to meet current Building Industry trends. It has been designed for those who wish to take advantage of the ever increasing demand in the Building Industry for Drylining and Jointing .
The aim of this course is to teach up to date Dry-Lining and Jointing methods including hand and machine taping and jointing.
Each trainee will have a bay in which to work.
Subjects Covered: The correct method of measuring and cutting plasterboard to size and fixing. The application of plasterboard to stud walls, window and door returns, internal and external angles and piers. The direct bonding of plasterboard to walls using the 'dot and dab' method. The application of drywall tape to internal/external and flush joints. The application of drywall beads to external angles. The uses of and the mixing of joint filler and joint cement. Hand jointing techniques to internal/external and flush joints leaving a smooth seamless crack free finish. Machine taping and jointing techniques to internal/external and flush joints. The correct method of feathering, sanding down and sealing ready for decoration. Duration: 4 1/2 days
