Who is it for?

This course is designed as an introduction to hygiene and ensures that vulnerable people are not exposed to unnecessary risks. It will help everyone, including those in the private and voluntary healthcare sectors, to play their part in maintaining a clean and safe environment.

What will I learn?

On completing this course candidates will understand:
*Terminology used in food hygiene practice
*Relationship of hazard and risk in prioritising action
*Relevant legislation relating to hygiene practice
*Concepts of hygiene hazards and infection control
*Importance of good personal hygiene
*Need for high standards of cleanliness to help prevent infection

How will I be assessed?

There is a short multi-choice test at the end of the course. Candidates are required to correctly answer 10 out of 15 questions in order to achieve a Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Level 2 Award in Hygiene in Health and Social Care.

Additional Notes

The duration of the course is 3 hours. We usually aim to start the course at either, 9.00am, 1.00pm or 5.00pm.
