Candidates should have a basic knowledge of general health and safety matters prior to taking the course.

What will I learn?

Successful completion of the training programme, assignment and self-evaluation will enable
candidates to:

How will I be assessed?

Following the course, candidates are required to undertake an assignment consisting of a risk assessment on their own work environment. It is expected that this will take between 10 and 12 hours and should be completed within four weeks of the course. Candidates are required to complete the course, assignment and self-evaluation achieving 60% or more in order to receive a Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Level 3 Award in Risk Assessment Principles and Practice. Additional Notes

The duration of the course is 7 hours. We usually aim to start the course at 9.00am and therefore taking into account time for refreshment and lunch breaks, the course usually finishes around 5.30pm. It would be an advantage and we strongly recommend that candidates take the CIEH Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace Course, prior to attending this course.
