Overview

This course is designed to help improve the workplace culture for occupational health and safety and helps to raise employees' awareness of the concept of risk assessment in a work environment.

Who is it for?

The main purpose of this course is to enable candidates to understand the basic principles of risk assessment and give them the ability to contribute to the risk assessment process.

What will I learn?

1. Health and safety in the workplace
2. Legislation
3. Principles of risk assessment
Successful completion of the training programme will enable candidates to:
- Contribute to the risk assessment programmes at their workplace
- Conduct risk assessments
- Organise and implement a risk assessment programme
- Participate in the identification of specific training raised through risk assessment
- Assist employers in meeting legal requirements and promote improved standards of health and sa

How will I be assessed?

There is a short multi-choice test at the end of the course. Candidates are required to correctly answer 20 out of 30 questions in order to achieve a Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Level 2 Award in Principles of Risk Assessment. Test papers and course books are available in several different languages and tests can also be conducted orally. QCA Accredited

Additional Notes

It would be an advantage and we strongly recommend that candidates take the CIEH Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace, prior to attending this course. Following this course you might wish to consider the CIEH Level 3 Award in Risk Assessment - Principles and Practice.
