Overview

This 3-day course aims to prepare students to develop the relevant knowledge and skills to use selected essential oils and basic massage skills safely and appropriately for pregnant and labouring women. It also covers the process of implementation of aromatherapy within the maternity services, including relevant professional, legal and ethical issues. Academically credit rated by the University of Greenwich if taken with Reflexology Techniques for Pregnancy and Childbirth course - 15 credits at level 3 (6)

What will I learn?

knowledge and skills to use selected essential oils and basic massage skills safely and appropriately for pregnant and labouring women; the process of implementation of aromatherapy within maternity services, including relevant professional, legal and ethical issues. Midwives working in the NHS will be appropriately equipped to implement aromatherapy in practice, subject to managerial approval
