Overview

People at work can suffer a heart attack or cardiac arrest. It doesn’t matter the age of your work force, this can happen to anyone at any time. It is not a legal requirement to hold an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). This course is designed to provide delegates with the skills and knowledge required to be a competent Defibrillator User, to be able to deal with heart attack or cardiac arrest until medical help is available.

Who is it for?

All candidates attending this course must have completed and passed a full HSE (First Aid) at Work Course.
Staff designated to act as the role of the ‘Defibrillator User’.

What will I learn?

• Have an ability to cope with stressful and physically demanding
emergency procedures
• Communication and delegation in an emergency
• Resuscitation skills
• Heart attack – CPR
• Cardiac arrest
• Safety procedures on an AED
