Please See Below For Course Information On 'Introduction to Myofascial Release (Part 1)'

Overview

Myofascial release techniques are rapidly gaining an upsurge in popularity because they are, for the most part, conservative, gentle and can quickly yield startling results even when applied by the beginner.

This is a two day seminar with the aim of providing a broad base introduction to the myofascial approaches to treatment which are widely used in the Americas and parts of Europe today. There is an emphasis on practical "hands-on" work interspersed with short lectures. Participant numbers are limited to a maximum of 20.

The principle aim of the course is to develop the participant's subtle sense of touch and specifically how subjective "feel" of the connective tissues can change with time and application of gentle pressure. This palpatory skill will then be set in the context of the clinical setting. The participant will learn about current thinking regarding soft tissue diagnostics as well as how and when to apply the various techniques.

Who is it for?

This course is aimed at all levels of physiotherapists, osteopaths, chiropractors, sports therapists, sports rehabilitators and massage therapists covered to use myofascial release techniques. Complimentary therapists are not eligible to attend.

What will I learn?

The course begins by discussing the anatomy and physiology of the fascia, and how this leads to its unique behaviour on palpation. The participant will then do a number of skill development exercises that will lead into sophisticated techniques aimed at treating the upper and lower limbs, the head, neck, pectoral girdle and low back.

For learning objectives, please see our website www.physiouk.co.uk

How will I be assessed?

You will recieve a certificate for completeing the course.
