Overview

This one day workshop aims to develop a greater understanding of how traumatic experiences affect children and families with particular reference to the impact on grieving, and to understand how therapy and other therapeutic opportunities can help alleviate traumatic distress

A one day workshop suitable for all those whose work involves supproting those traumatically bereaved

What will i learn?

To recognise who is more likely to be affected by trauma. Gain an understanding of how this explains different effects of trauma. Gain an understanding of the cognitive model of trauma and how traumatic experiences are 'processed'. To explore how the effects of trauma can be become an obstacle to grieving. Gain an understanding of how therapy and therapeutic opportunities can diminish the traumatic effects, clearing the path for the grieving process.
