There are three main components considered in Quality Management: quality control, quality assurance and quality improvement.

Expected Salary

£18,000 – £30,000 starting salary

£30,000 – £40,000+ once further experience and training has been acquired.

The professional institution for Quality Assurance (QA) managers is the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI).

Quality Manger

The Role
Quality managers coordinate activities to ensure they meet quality standards.

They liaise with other managers and staff throughout the organisation to ensure that the QA system is functioning properly.

Tasks may include:

  • Setting QA compliance objectives
  • Ensuring tests and procedures are properly understood
  • Working with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers
  • Liaising with customers
  • Monitoring performance by gathering relevant data
  • Writing technical and management systems reports
  • Supervising staff

Salary:
£20,000 – £30,000 dependent upon sector and location
